Hip Liposuction
Stubborn fat accumulation around the hips is largely genetic — particularly for women — making it one of the most challenging areas to address through diet and exercise alone. Hip liposuction at London Liposuction Clinic is performed on both men and women and is often carried out in combination with the thighs and flanks to create a sculpted, balanced silhouette. The procedure should be viewed as a body-contouring treatment rather than a weight-loss solution or a treatment for cellulite.

Pre-Procedure Consultation
Before any treatment begins, the patient's expectations and full figure are carefully assessed to ensure the final outcome will look natural and balanced. The location and volume of excess fat are evaluated alongside the hip-to-waist ratio to plan the most effective approach. Our team takes a bespoke approach — no two patients are treated identically.
How the Procedure Is Performed
The procedure begins with the administration of tumescent local anaesthesia, which reduces bleeding and accelerates recovery compared with general anaesthesia. Incisions are made around the target area, and a cannula is introduced to break down the fat cells via careful back-and-forth motions. The melted fat is then suctioned out, leaving just enough to maintain the natural shape of the hips.
Recovery and Aftercare
Compression garments are provided at the clinic and should be worn for a minimum of six weeks following the procedure to promote skin contraction and reduce swelling. The healing process typically takes between three and six months, during which a healthy diet is essential to prevent new fat accumulation in the treated area. Light everyday activities can be resumed relatively quickly, but strenuous exercise should be avoided until cleared by the clinical team.
